Jason Ruehland joined Emrill in 2011 and has been instrumental in the company’s rise to the top of the region’s FM industry. During his three years as operations director, Ruehland secured certification for Emrill with the British Institute of Cleaning Science, increased sales of home maintenance packages by 38% and reduced lost time accidents by 66%.
With over 13 years of experience in the engineering, maintenance and FM industries, Ruehland’s greatest strength is driving low-cost innovation into the business to increase revenue and maximise profit.
In an effort to improve customer service and reduce operating costs, Emril launched Business Smart. The initiative uses mobile technology to improve monitoring and reporting across the business.
“We know our clients are under constant pressure to maximise operational efficiency and reduce operating costs, so we developed Business Smart to meet those challenges,” says Ruehland.
“What makes Business Smart clever is our wireless monitoring system, which is easy to install, non-intrusive and designed to watch our clients’ key assets in real time and alert technicians of potential issues. The system looks for evidence of deteriorating performance or potential failure. Mobile teams are quickly dispatched to carry out maintenance ‘just-in-time’ to prevent asset failure,” he adds.
Currently, Emril employs more than 6,000 staff in the UAE with another 2,114 across the GCC under joint venture partner, Carillion.
In 2014, the integrated FM service provider won contracts with four of the world’s tallest towers: Princess Tower, 23 Marina, Elite Residence and Torch Tower.
Additional contract wins include housekeeping, security, technical, lifeguard and concierge services for 23 Marina and technical services to Yas Mall (Aldar).
