Emrill, the leading facilities management company in the UAE has signed a deal with international energy services firm, Crowley Carbon. The deal worth up to AED 100 million was announced during the Enterprise Ireland Trade and Investment Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE.

The deployment of Crowley’s carbon control centre technology will be retrofitted into 800 buildings under Emrill’s management and energy usage will be monitored in each building from Crowley Carbon’s Irish headquarters in Enniskerry.

Crowley Carbon, headquartered in Ireland with offices in London and Sydney, will also improve energy efficiency at Emrill offices using its 80-strong range of products for energy, lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning in its Carbon Control Centre using technology from Urbanise.

Norman Crowley, CEO Crowley Carbon said, ‘‘We are delighted that Dubai is embracing the significant financial and environmental opportunities offered by proactively engaging with the area of energy efficiency. Emrill’s unique service offering will provide each client with a tailor-made energy management solution built from the world’s most advanced energy-saving technologies. We are confident that the combined experience and expertise of the team at Emrill and all involved in this pioneering collaboration will guide Dubai to the next stage in its development.’’

Ben Churchill, Managing Director, Emrill added, ‘’By identifying the vast, locked-in potential of buildings to minimise their impact on the environment and achieve unprecedented cost reductions into the future, we have opened the door to a cleaner, greener and more cost-effective way for businesses to operate. This will be applicable not only in the Middle East but around the world.’’

Crowley Carbon – established in 2009 by entrepreneur Norman Crowley – expects to open a Dubai office in 2014 and employ a further 20 staff in Ireland as a result of the Emrill partnership.

Speaking in Dubai during his trade mission to the United Arab Emirates, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland), Enda Kenny said: ‘This partnership between Crowley Carbon and Emrill is highly significant in terms of the scale of the contract and as a symbol of the continued success of Irish companies in winning business in Dubai and other markets in the region.
