Dubai, April 17, 2013: Emrill, the leading Facilities Management provider in the UAE, was part of the panel of experts presenting at Dubai Global Energy Forum (DGEF) 2013  held from 15th to 17th April 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Dubai Global Energy, Forum (DGEF) 2013, the first forum of its kind on clean-energy related issues in Dubai, brings together global energy experts to exchange perspectives on some of the world’s most vital issues; clean energy and sustainability.

Ben Churchill, Managing Director, Emrill addressed the forum on Green Buildings and the ESCO Model, which allows for effective management and retrofitting of low efficiency buildings. Energy consumption contributes up to 60% of the operating cost of a building which is what drove the organisation to launch Emrill Energy Services, that offers complete and unique energy efficient solutions to make even old buildings smart and energy efficient. In his presentation, Ben Churchill addressed the urgent economic, social and environmental imperative to reduce consumption in old and emerging cities.

Norman Crowley, Chairman, Crowley Carbon spoke about the issue of climate change. He stated that the world would witness a fifth super-storm as a result of climate change. Hurricane Sandy was the second major super-storm to hit the US and 4 times more powerful than the devastating Hurricane Katrina costing the US government about $25 billion. In his compelling presentation, he explained how serious action would be taken on climate change by the time of the fifth super-storm and why some would make billions in the process of fixing this global problem.

Dubai Global Energy Forum in its second meeting aims to promote and drive discussions and analysis that will lead to real and sustained improvements in the energy sector worldwide. The DGEF 2013 provides a platform for participants to share ideas and debate key issues affecting the energy sector such as: best practices in the field of energy security, supply and clean energy management, alternative energy resources, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, current and future energy-related policies, programs, technologies including specific technologies to decarbonize fossil fuels (Oil, Gas, and Coal), investment opportunities and market indicators.
